In Memoriam of Rosario La Rosa| ACTA Otorhinolaryngologica Italica

Abstract

Prof. Rosario La Rosa passed away on July 28, 2022. This sad news was a bolt from the blue for all who knew him. The entire ENT community shares the pain of his family. He was born in Canicattini Bagni (SR); after graduating from high school, he enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Bologna where he graduated in December 1972. He obtained a specialisation in Otolaryngology and Cervico-Facial Pathology at the University of Modena in October 1975. From 1973 to 1998, he worked continuously in the ENT division at the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna as an assistant. Since 1995, he has been adjunct professor at the ENT Clinic of Pavia, teaching “Techniques of functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose”. Since January 1999, he has directed the operating unit of Otolaryngology at the Villa Chiara Clinic in Bologna. Since the beginning of his clinical experience, he has turned to the problems of rhinology. His scientific and research activity involved nasal fluid dynamics and subsequently in the treatment of the complex clinical condition of “empty nose syndrome”.
